The Role

The successful candidate will be proactive, a strategic thinker who demonstrates initiative, and someone who will enjoy working in a dynamic PR team to drive proactive media coverage for clients across traditional and digital media channels. Solid media relationships are a must, as is an understanding of the digital space and influencers. Candidates must be able to think outside of the box and must be proficient in delivering big hits and profile stories for clients, but also be the day-to-day lead on smaller accounts, managing internal delegation, and starting to step into account strategy with a Director’s help.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Account + Client Management

  • Day-to-day client go-to
  • Proactive approach to managing client needs/ expectations
  • Assist with strategy, planning, implementation and evaluation of PR activities
  • Creative brainstorming, programme and pitch development
  • Build relationships with destinations, tour operators and offices of tourism in the markets that serve your clients

Media Relations

  • You have a solid, trusted network of A+ media relationships that you can tap on a moment's notice
  • Proactive media relations (pitching, organising media/influencer visits, reviewing & approving media lists)
  • Organise pitch priorities; assign and oversee progress of pitches to team members with the support of account leadership
  • Regularly coordinate in-person media meetings with journalists on location
  • Secure and host media and influencers on press trips, media appointments, and events
Team Leadership
  • Manage direct report(s), providing leadership, guidance, feedback, and coaching to direct report(s) and account teams 
  • Provide support and guidance for account team members 
  • Support and offer insight as needed to senior leadership
  • Manage your direct reports, helping them set goals to continue growing and developing, coaching and offering feedback, and conducting check-ins and annual reviews 

Industry / JPR

  • You confidently secure meetings with relevant brands that may impact your clients' goals
  • You seek out opportunities for learning by attending conferences, workshops, and events on behalf of the agency



Experience and Qualifications

  • University Degree or comparable experience required
  • At least 4-5 years public relations experience, ideally within travel or luxury
  • Agency experience strongly preferred
  • Must have stellar client and media references
  • Must have strong and proven relationships with local, regional and national media contacts
  • Must have strong, effective and proven management skills
  • Strong understanding of Influencer relations and engagement
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the UK
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint in a Mac OS environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, experience in a hospitality environment is a plus
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Strong knowledge of media and news cycles
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
