The Role

The Post Graduate Program is a temporary, entry-level position that will allow knowledge learned in school to expand and translate into the workforce. The goal is to transition into a permanent role at the end of the four- to six-month program. This role supports the administrative duties of the Publicity Assistant, teams, clients & accounts. Being new to the industry with prior internship experience, expectations come at a fast pace. You will be exposed to all facets of the agency at the administrative level and assist in monitoring, updating, researching, and reporting for client services, teams, and tasks. This position requires reliability, a passion for travel & hospitality, and a hunger to devour every publication as a resource in the PR industry.

This position is a hybrid role based in our New York City, NY office. Our hybrid policy blends the flexibility of working from home with the connection of in-office work, with employees required to be in-office 2-3 days per week.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Public Relations

  • Assist with reporting & gathering information to develop efficient round-up pitches
  • Create & write press materials: fact sheets, media lists, press releases, newsletters, bios/backgrounders
  • Clip and draft placement spotlights, pitches, and press releases for clients
  • Monitor and update all administrative tasks & duties/platforms
  • Assist in brainstorming & planning sessions/story angles & partnerships
  • Assist with data input for weekly reporting/client updates
  • Navigate Muck Rack, updating quality media lists
  • Research publications, editorial calendars & maintain targeted media lists
  • Assist with drafting of Friday updates by working with Publicity Assistants
  • Responsible for media tracking & client reporting (media clips, placement spotlights, digital alerts & calculating PR values)
  • Hone writing skills, blurb writing, and elevate press releases 
  • Establish & maintain effective, respectful & professional relationships with employees and clients
  • Perform other tasks or projects assigned by Account leads or Executive members
  • Assist in research on upcoming trends, articles & social media relating to the PR industry & clients specific to travel, luxury hospitality & culinary

Social Media

  • Use a basic understanding of Fohr for influencer analysis
  • Provide administrative assistance with media and influencer relations (writing, research, backgrounders)
  • Research and pull imagery requests and photo needs, content calendar requests, and influencer relations information
  • Research models/influencers for content shoots
  • Assist with the digital filing within content archives for each client
  • Source UGC for mockups during the community management process
  • Ability to perform other tasks or projects assigned by manager and account team members

 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communication, journalism, marketing and/or business or comparable experience is expected & required
  • Previous experience with traditional PR platforms is preferred (Muck Rack, Cision, HAROs, etc.)
  • Previous agency internship experience (PR/Social industry is preferred)

 

Requirements

  • Must be able to commute to our New York City, NY office regularly
  • Must be available to work 35-40 hours per week
  • Proficiency in computer programs
    • Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
    • Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment
